KU signs MoU with ISKCON Kurukshetra

Kurukshetra:A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Institute of Integrated & Honors Studies of Kurukshetra University and ISKCON Kurukshetra. Registrar Dr. Sanjeev Sharma on behalf of Kurukshetra University and ISKCON Kurukshetra Vice President Mohan Gourchandra Das signed the MoU  in the presence of KU Vice Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva.

 

Speaking on the occasion Vice Chancellor Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva said that the National Education Policy 2020 is a continuous effort to provide employable education to the students as well as to build their strong character by inculcating moral qualities in their conduct. He said that through this MoU, ISKCON and KU will exchange extension activities and research programs for the benefit of the students.

 

He further said that inculcating moral values in young students would be important not only to make them responsible citizens but also play a role in social development. Such efforts are also necessary to keep the young generation connected with the rich culture and ideology of India. The students will be better equipped to deal with pressures and challenges that they face in life.  

 

Prof Som Nath said that Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is one of the holiest texts of Hindus. Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is currently attracting the attention of people not only in India but also abroad for its philosophical approach towards life. The message of Gita of Nishkaam Karma is also appealing to management gurus. It is included in the most famous books of all the religions of the world.

 

ISKCON Kurukshetra Vice President Mohan Gourchandra Das said that through this MoU, scholars from ISKCON will come to Kurukshetra University to deliver lectures on Gita.

 

On this occasion Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Manjula Chaudhary, Prof. Brajesh Sawhney, Prof. Arvind Malik, Prof A.R. Chaudhri, Prof. R.K. Deswal, Prof. Anita Dua, Prof. Sanjeev Gupta, Prof. Jaswinder and Dr. Ramchandra were present along with others from ISKCON Kurukshetra.
