State Bank of India organized tree plantation campaign and cleanliness drive to mark Gandhi Jayanti

Chandigarh: On the occasion of birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, Chief General Manager of State Bank of India, Chandigarh circle, Mr. Vinod Jaiswal informed that   a massive tree plantation drive  was conducted in the Chandigarh circle of  State Bank  of  India in the last 03 months. Under this campaign, 89172 saplings were planted to save the environment through various offices and branches of State Bank of  India. 38072 saplings were planted in Punjab, 26100 saplings in Haryana, 12500 saplings  in Jammu and 12500 saplings in Himachal Pradesh in various schools, institutions and  wastelands. 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Vinod Jaiswal, Chief General Manager, SBI Chandigarh circle stressed  on making 'Paryavaran Hi Jeevan Hai'  campaign a part of everyday life. He said that we should plant and nurture plants around us to protect the environment, which will give us pure air and also protect the environment. Shri Jaiswal said that State Bank of India is committed to fulfilling its social responsibilities and attaches importance to environment protection. He said that we  should keep our  surroundings clean and inspire others to do the same.

 

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the Bank has also launched swachhta abhiyan from 2nd   October to 31st October in which  various offices/branches of the Bank of Chandigarh circle will organize cleanliness drive activities in their vicinity which will lead to participation in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan clenliness campaign 2.0
