New Delhi, Lok Sabha MP from Arunachal Pradesh Tapir Gao on Tuesday reiterated his demand to the Centre to create a separate cadre for all-India services for the frontier state and Mizoram.
“It has been 33 years that Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram got statehood. In Arunachal Pradesh, IAS/IPS officers are posted for two years. These officers are very good, but as per Government of India (GoI) rule, they are called back after two years. Therefore, I reiterate my demand to GoI to give separate cadre to Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram," Gao, who represents the Arunachal East Parliamentary constituency said, while raising the issue of separate cadre during Zero Hour in Lok Sabha.
He also informed the House that Arunachal Pradesh Assembly had passed a resolution in this regard.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu had also reiterated the need to create separate IAS/IPS cadre for Arunachal Pradesh.
