A Patwari under Tehsil Fatehpur of district Kangra has been arrested red handed by the Vigilance team while taking a bribe of 15 thousand rupees. The accused has been identified as Ashwini Kumar son of Dharam Chand, resident of village Batahri, Post Office Lohara Tehsil Fatehpur. The accused is presently posted as a Patwari under Patwar Vrit Bari (King's Pond). He is the son of Jagdish Chand. Banta Ram resident village Kutkhana has been arrested on the complaint of Post Office Kuthdal Tehsil Fatehpur.Giving information about the matter, ASP Vigilance Dharamshala Balbir Jaswal said that Jagdish Chand submitted a complaint to the Vigilance that the said Patwari was demanding bribe in lieu of marking the land. On this, the Vigilance formed a team and laid a trap, in which the accused got trapped. On Monday, when the patwari came to the kutkhana for spotting and demanded the bribe amount from the complainant, the Vigilance arrested him red handed. The ASP said that further investigation in the matter is going on.
