People want same experience, not same movie: Rajamouli

December 09, 2021 09:51 PM

Mumbai, Ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli says he is aware of people’s expectation from "RRR", but he is also certain that audience doesn’t want another "Baahubali", what they want is similar cinematic experience.

Rajamouli, set his own mark in Indian cinema with his 'Baahubali' series. Now that 'RRR' is to be witnessed by the audience, the ace filmmaker is confident about audience expectation and needs.

Talking about audience and their expectation, with RRR coming five years after "Baahubali2 The Conclusion", Rajamouli said, “I am sure a lot of people would be expecting same kind of movie after Baahubali, but we can’t keep making the same film again and again,...
"The trick is, if you look deeply, the audience isn’t waiting for another 'Baahubali', they are waiting for the kind of experience they had in the film or the emotion they felt, that is what they want.
"Audience cannot tell you that.... because they cannot analyze it..., they simply say..., we want another Baahubali, but in reality they are asking for same kind of emotions and highs they got in that film."

"I am fully aware of expectations which people have, I am banking on the story, characters, the relationship between the characters, the emotions, and highs. Any section of audience that come to the theaters, after 2-3 minutes they will watch the film for what it is, not what we did before.
"I will be banking on my story and character, rather than my previous track record," said Rajamouli.

The epic drama RRR stars Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson and Shriya Saran.

The Telugu-language period action drama is produced by DVV Danayya of DVV Entertainments.
"RRR" will release on January 7, 2002, across India in multiple languages.
