SHIMLA: State vice President of Bharatiya Janata Party Payal Vaidya, while addressing the press conference, placed the main points of the Bharatiya Janata Party's *“sankalp patra”* and the vision of the Bharatiya Janata Party on women's empowerment in front of media. She said that BJP is the only party which released the *“stree sankalp patra”* dedicated only to women this shows the commitment of party towards women, women empowerment.It is our aim and we are committed towards that. BJP has prepared the *Sankalp Patra* by keeping women at the center.
Earlier also , the Bharatiya Janata Party has increased the honorarium of Anganwadi workers, Asha workers, sewing teachers and Mid Day Meal Works from 50 percent to 400 percent. Similarly, in the BJP’s Sankalp Patra, it has expressed its commitment towards women empowerment. A resolution has been taken to increase the financial assistance for the marriage of girls of BPL family from the existing Rs.31 thousand to Rs.51 thousand. A fund of Rs 500 crore will be set up.
Through which interest free loan will be given to women for setting up homestay, this will provide self-employment opportunities to women in tourism based state like Himachal. Women Self Help Groups will be empowered by increasing the upper limit of loans and the interest on loans given on this will be reduced by 2 percent. This will increase the participation of women in the field of employment and self-reliance.
An amount of Rs.25 thousand will be provided to pregnant women to ensure proper health and care of mother and child. Three free LPG cylinders will be provided to the women of poor families through *“Devi Annapurna Yojana”*. Apart from this, pension benefits will be given to all women above 30 years of age from poor families under *“Atal Pension Yojana”* so that their future can be secured and made dignified.
The top 5000 ranked girl students in class XII of government schools will be provided a scholarship of Rs.25 hundred per month during their higher studies. This will facilitate girl students to pursue higher education and increase the percentage of girl students in higher education. A system will be developed to facilitate the purchase and distribution of quality fodder for cattle through fair price shops to rural women.
For all women of the state *“Stree Shakti Card”* will be provided through which those diseases will be covered that does not covered under *Himcare card*. Two girls hostels will be constructed in each of the 12 districts of the state, which will provide facilities to the girl students pursuing higher education and they will be provided with comfortable housing at affordable cost.
33 percent reservation will be ensured for women in government jobs and educational institutions in the state, which will increase women's participation in government jobs and in higher education. Along with this, Bicycle will be provided to school girls from class VI to XII and Scooty will be provided to girl students pursuing higher education.
Congress has always ignored women and did not work for women empowerment all these years as can be seen On the contrary, the BJP ensured the safety of women, provided them facilities and made them self-reliant. Women have always been considered sacred by BJP, BJP has always been dedicated to the welfare of women. Women are the architects of our modern society and country , upliftment of society is possible only with the help of women.
