The government of scams and flip-flops is running in Haryana: Hooda

November 18, 2022 04:26 PM

Gohana: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said a government of flip-flops is running Haryana, which repeatedly breaks its promises. He said that the government had promised to withdraw all the cases to end the farmer's movement, but even after so many months, the government has not kept its promise.

He said this is the reason why farmers have once again decided to take to the streets. “This government is deliberately forcing the farmers to come on the streets again and again,” he said. Addressing a press conference in Gohana, Hooda said the demand of the farmers is completely justified. “All the cases registered against them should be withdrawn immediately. If the present government does not do this, then this decision will be taken when the Congress government is formed. Along with this, the farmers who sacrificed their lives during the movement will be given martyr status and their families will be given financial help and a government job,” he said.

The former Chief Minister stated that the sugarcane season has started, but the state government has not fixed the rate till now. He demanded that the price of sugarcane in the state should be at least ₹ 400 per quintal. “The input cost of the farmer is increasing continuously and now even petroleum products are being made from the residue of sugarcane,” he added.

On this occasion, he said that the condition of roads in entire Haryana including Gohana is very dilapidated and these dilapidated roads are the main cause of accidents. Commenting on the recent paddy scam that surfaced in Haryana, Hooda said the government of scams is running in Haryana. “4000 quintals of paddy was sold in Karnal alone without gate pass and this was seen in other districts of the state as well. Farmers have to wait for several days and hours to sell their crops in the mandis running with the help of the portal. Still, the farmers are unable to get the MSP for their crops. In the midst of all these problems, the government is continuously carrying out paddy and wheat scams,” he said.

“Many scams like liquor, sometimes registry, electricity meter, paddy and wheat keep coming to the fore in the state. But even till date, in no case has the government taken action against the person holding a high position and they are trying to bury the issue by taking action on small employees. The report of the SIT which is formed to investigate the scams never sees the light of the day,” he stated.

Hooda said that the present government has made Haryana number 1 in corruption, unemployment, crime and intoxication. “During the Congress tenure, Haryana was number one in terms of per capita income, per capita investment, employment generation, prosperity of farmers and respect of sportspersons. Today the situation is such that the youth of Haryana is facing the highest unemployment rate of 31.8% in the country. Instead of providing permanent jobs to the youth, the government is promoting the contract system in the name of Skill Corporation,” he stated.

“Due to anti-education policies, the medical students of the state are also forced to take to the streets. I had also met the students protesting against the medical fee hike and bond policy at Rohtak PGI. The Congress will raise this issue in the Vidhan Sabha as this decision of the government will deprive the children of poor and middle class families from medical education. The Supreme Court itself has said that education cannot be commercialized,” he said.

Expressing satisfaction over the results of the Adampur by-election, Hooda said the Congress performed brilliantly in the by-election despite BJP, JJP using full force and misusing government machinery and money power. “The result of the by-election has shown that the public is looking at the Congress as an alternative. The result of the bye-polls has also shown that there is a straight fight between the Congress and the BJP in Haryana. The Aam Aadmi Party and INLD, which entered the elections to cut votes, have no mass base in the state,” he added. Hooda claimed that the coming Congress government in Haryana will work to make the state number one in development again.
