New Space Marine 2 cinematic trailer release after over a decade excites gaming fans

December 14, 2021 10:35 PM

New Delhi, After more than a decade of waiting, fans of the Warhammer 40,000 franchise and the gaming community were rewarded for their patience when the trailer for ‘Space Marine 2’ was released.

The December 10 trailer release follows the September 6, 2011 one, which was made available on Microsoft Windows, PS3 and XBOX 360 platforms and was developed by Relic Entertainment and published by THQ.

Originally planned as a trilogy, the game Space Marine ended with a cliffhanger with its fate uncertain, especially following the bankruptcy of THQ due to financial difficulties. Hopes for a sequel to Space Marine seemed more like wishful thinking.

However, in 2019 publisher Focus Entertainment announced that it will be working with Saber Interactive for a “license among the most important in the Games Workshop universe”.

During The Game Awards this year, fans finally found out what it was to be — a sequel to Relic's much-loved 2011 action game Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine.

In the latest version, Captain Titus has returned with his Ultramarines and is ready to strike at the enemies of the Emperor of Mankind with his angels of death, with the cinematic trailer showcasing the Tyranids as a primary antagonist faction.

The Third Person Shooter Hack and Slash game received widespread praise from the gaming community, and more so from the Warhammer 40k community.

The release of the new cinematic trailer has caused much excitement among its multitude of fans across the world.
