District Magistrate Nishant Kumar Yadav today said that the manufacturing and sale of all types of crackers in the district have been completely banned to save the elderly, children and people suffering from serious and respiratory diseases from toxic smoke emitted by the crackers. At the same time, the crackers’ adverse effect on the environment could also be prevented.
Instructing the District Education Officer (DEO) in this regard, Yadav said that these orders would come into force with immediate effect and would continue till November 20. He said that they should organize seminars, workshops and seminars in schools and colleges, in which the bad effect of smoke emitted by crackers on the body and environment should be explained in detail to students. Simultaneously, the regional officers of Haryana Pollution Control Board Karnal will keep a constant check on air quality of the district and upload complete data in this regard on the website, Yadav said.
The district magistrate has instructed the superintendent of police, municipal commissioner, all sub-divisional magistrates, tehsildars, deputy tehsildars, block development and panchayat officers, DSPs, SHOs of all police stations and fire officers to implement the order. At the same time, these officers will conduct raids in their jurisdiction to implement the orders. They have been directed to send daily report in this regard to the district magistrate.
