KU Eco Club organize a cycle rally

Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva flagged off a cycle rally from the Vice Chancellor's office under the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' organized by the Eco Club of Kurukshetra University. On this occasion Prof. Som Nath said that protection of environment is our collective responsibility and priority. Let us start with our surroundings. Today we can make Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Vocal for Local campaign successful by working for the environment. We should make a social contribution to the protection of the environment by implementing the solutions emerging from the discussions at the global level at the local level.

KU Registrar Dr. Sanjeev Sharma was also present on this occasion. International students studying in KU also participated in this rally. KU Dean Students’ Welfare and Environment Nodal Officer Prof. Anil Vashisth told that under the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi, various programs related to environmental protection were organized in the university campus from August 14 to August 21, under the country's name, green campus, green house program for a week. Under this campaign, a poster making competition was organized on 14th August. In this episode, a cycle rally has been organized in the university campus for environmental awareness on Tuesday.

Prof. Anil Vashisht informed that Dr. Ramesh Kumar of Chemistry Department, Dr. Anand Kumar of IIHS, Dr. Deepak Rai Babbar of Zoology Department, Dr. Meenakshi Suhag of Institute of Environmental Studies and Dr. Dr. Vishal Ahlawat of UIET has played an active role as committee members. NSS Program Coordinator Prof Dinesh Rana played active role in this rally. Dr. Ramesh Kumar, the convener of the cycle rally, said that 240 participants participated enthusiastically in this cycle rally with the message of environmental protection.

Dr. Deepak Rai Babbar, Member Secretary of Eco Club, told that in this cycle rally, Prof. Anurekha, Prof. SK Chahal, Prof. Neera Raghav, Dr. Hardeep, Dr. CR Jilova, Dr. Chandrakant, Dr. Mahavir Ranga, Dr. Mukendra Kadian, Dr. Kuldeep Singh, Dr. Parmesh, Dr. Ajay Jangra, Dr. Gurcharan, Dr. Harvinder Longowal, Anita Choudhary of the University including Teachers, non-teaching staff, research scholars and students participated and follow all the Covid-19 rules. The cycle rally culminated in the community center of the university.
