PKL 8: Telugu Titans announce team

Hyderabad, Telugu Titans on Tuesday announced their new team for the Pro Kabaddi Season 8, which will kick start on December 22 in Bengaluru.

The 12-team tournament will be played in a single league phase inside a bio-secure bubble and behind closed doors due to Covid-19.

Srinivas Sreeramaneni, owner of Telugu Titans, declared the team.

Rohit Kumar (captain), Siddharth Desai, Amit Chauhan, Ankit Beniwal, Galla Raju, Hyunsu Park, Rajnish, Rakesh Gowda, Akash Dattu Arsul, Akash Choudhary, Manissh, Adarsh T, C Arun, Sandeep Kandola, Prince D, Ruturaj Koravi, Surinder Singh, Tetsuro Abe.

Speaking on the occasion, Sreeramaneni said after the massive two-year gap a lot of new talent has come through and some of them have also come into our team.

 

Siddharth Desai (Rs 1.30 crore) became the second most expensive buy in the history of the PKL tournament along with other couple of notable Indian purchases.

Jagadeesh Kumble, coach of Telugu Titans said, "For the first time, spectators have been prohibited from attending matches owing to Covid-19, which means all matches would be held behind closed doors."

"All 12 teams will now form a single league phase. Previously, the tournament had been held across various cities in India, but this time, it will follow a single-city format with Bengaluru hosting all of the matches inside a bio-secure bubble."

Telugu Titans will open their campaign against Tamil Thalaivas on December 22, followed by matches against Puneri Paltan (December 25), Haryana Steelers (December 28), Bangaluru Bulls (January 1), Patna Pirates (January 3), Dabang Delhi (January 5), U Mumbai (January 8), Gujarat Giants (January 11), UP Yoddha (January 15), Bengal Warriors (January 17), and Jaipur Pink Panthers (January 19).
