CHANDIGARH: The Security Department of PGI has organized 20th Mega blood donation camp today to celebrate jayanti of Netaji Subhash Chander Bose and Republic day as a patriotic gesture.
Prof. Rakesh Sehgal, Dean (Academic), PGIMER inaugurated the blood donation camp. Sh. Kumar Gaurav Dhawan, DDA, Sh. Kumar Abhay, Financial Adviser, Prof. Ashok Kumar, AMS and CEO, Swaraj Engines graced the occasion.
The camp was organized with support and cooperation of M/s Swaraj Engines, SBI Medical Branch, Sector 12, Chandigarh, Members of CISF & CRPF.
350 voluntary donors donated the blood and approximately 150 donors were declared unfit for various reasons.
Sh. Rakesh Sehgal, Dean (Academic), Branch Manager, SBI, Sector 12, Chandigarh, graced the occasion to boost the morale of donors as Guest of Honour.
Sh. Gursharan Singh Korey, Chief Security Officer, PGI and MD of M/s Swaraj Engines, Mohali presented certificates & gifts to the donors. Each blood donor was given 1 towel, 1 Thermos / Flask, Sweets box and trophy as a token of love and appreciation by the Security Department, PGI.
Approximately 72 persons pledged for organ donation at the camp.
