Police recover 4183 missing mobile phones

Haryana Police have successfully recovered about 4183 lost and stolen mobile phones of the public during last year 2021 and handed them over to their real owners. The market value of the recovered mobile phones is more than Rs 3 crore 34 lakh. Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar Agarwal while giving information in this regard today said that while processing the complaints received across the state, the cyber units of the police tracked the IMEI number of these mobile phones on surveillance and recovered the handsets.

The highest number of 538 mobile phones were recovered in Yamunanagar district while 349 in Panchkula, 287 in Hisar, 284 in Gurugram, 257 in Karnal, 241 in Ambala, 229 in Kaithal, 188 in Noonah, 188 in Fatehabad, 170 in Jind and 166 in Palwal. 132 in Rohtak, 129 in Panipat, 122 in Sirsa, 119 in Dadri, 112 in Narnaul, 83 in Hansi, 83 in Bhiwani, 54 in Kurukshetra, 56 in Rewari, 46 in Faridabad and 34-34 in Jhajjar and Sonipat. At the same time, the GRP unit of Haryana Police also contributed in recovering 300 mobile phones.

After being recovered, the police contacted the complainants and handed over the mobiles to the real owners. The cyber police team is being appreciated by the citizens and their confidence in the technological progress of the police has also increased with this important campaign. The DGP said that locating missing phones with the latest technology is one of the top priorities of Haryana Police, and under an important programme underway.
