Chandigarh: Haryana Home Minister Sh. Anil Vij said on the auspicious occasion of Gopashtami that PG (Paying Guest) should be opened in the villages for those people who cannot keep cows at home due to urbanization. People should keep cows and social and other organizations should also make arrangements for this because today it is necessary for people to return to the old tradition.

Vij today participated in the havan organized by the Gaushala Committee at Rambagh Gaushala located in Ambala Cantonment and also performed cow service by feeding fodder to the cows.

Vij said on this occasion that the times have progressed rapidly, earlier people used to keep cows for cow service, but today they are keeping dogs. Similarly, earlier we used to grow flowers at home, now we are planting cactus. This has affected the behavior of the times. He said that cow is a part of our culture and society. The one who gives birth is called mother and the one who nurtures is also called mother. Cow also takes care of humans and its milk and dung are useful for humans.

Home Minister Vij said that the government is also considering constructing a cow shelter. Haryana is the first state which has taken action against cow smuggling by making a strict law. Along with tightening the rules, the crackdown on criminals has also been tightened.
