Chandigarh: A 12-foot-long python was spotted near the catchment area of Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh on Saturday, causing a stir among morning walkers and local residents.
The snake was seen coiled on a tree within the restricted forested zone near the lake. Upon receiving the information, a team from the Forest Department swiftly reached the spot and safely rescued the python by carefully bringing it down from the tree.
Officials confirmed that the python appeared to be healthy and would be released back into its natural habitat after a medical check-up. The Forest Department has urged people not to panic and to immediately inform authorities in case of any such wildlife sightings.
