Gurpreet Ghuggi On the occasion, said "It is a matter of great pride for me that I am associated with the noble mission of a young and visionary entrepreneur like Gary Malhotra. Hailing from a nondescript village in Malerkotla, Gary Malhotra achieved the honour of being beckoning force behind the establishing about a dozen educational institutions in various the cities of Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide in Australia. It is indeed a proud moment for every Punjabi"
He turns nostalgic as he recounts his school days "I am a product of a government school and I have seen from a close quarter how children who were much smarter and more capable than me were left behind in the race of life due to lack of opportunities. Some of them were forced by the financial constraints of the family to quit their studies and do some odd jobs for a living", he lamented
He said Gary Malhotra has come up with an innovative ‘Self Sponsor’ program which is a revolution in the field of education, giving hope to thousands of parents who couldn’t afford wherewithal to their wards, especially daughters, to aim at fulfilling their cherished dreams. The mission will make them way more self-reliant, as there is a ppopular saying that when a daughter gets quality education, the entire family progresses. Apart from this, giving 100 percent sponsorship to those 25 needy and bright students through the ‘Helping Hand’ organization is a testament to the envisaged Himalayan ambitiom.
On this occasion, Rajya Sabha member and Chancellor of Chandigarh University Satnam Singh Sandhu said "Today, as an educationist, I feel extremely happy and proud to see this unique initiative taken by Gary Malhotra and his team. I congratulate him for this unique initiative. It is a matter of pride for all of us that a youth from the land of Punjab, who achieved humongous success abroad by struggling on his own, has come to repay the debt he owes to his soil and has taken up the task of improving the future of the youth who were denied opportunities for a variety of reasons, financial being the core".
Sandhu said that having worked with the students coming from various backgrounds for the last 25 years, I can say for sure that our Punjabi youth lack neither courage nor passion for progress. If anything is lacking here is, the right kind of opportunities. Whenever they seized an opportunity, they have brought glory to Punjab. The saddest part of the story is that due to lack of right opportunities and the right path, many of our youth get lost in the wilderness as they get trapped in the 'donkey routes' to live their dreams abroad.
I am happy that they are also helping them by providing scholarships and adopting the needy children, who are extremely financially weak"
Up next to address the distinguished gathering was renowned educationist Kanwaljit Singh Dhindsa, who said that Gary Malhotra has touched the dizzying heights of success in Australia by kickstarting his eventful journey from a village government school.
The projects started by Gary Malhotra through the 'Helping Hand' organization are not just not a business venture but a huge contribution to the society. His three key initiatives are particularly commendable, adding that the 100% Self-Sponsorship (First Study, Earn and Then Pay Fees), is a unique and ans innovative idea, which would free the students' mind from lurking burden of paying fees during their studies. This will ensure that no bright child is deprived of higher education due to lack of financial burden.
He said that the method of connecting students directly with the institute creates transparency and trust in the entire process, which would afford students savings and transparency in terms of fees and othrr expenses, or from being misled.
Free International Education for Poor and bright children is indeed a boon in disguise. The future of bright children is all set to improve with the initiative of providing free education through 100 per cent sponsorship.
Personalities like Gary Malhotra, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Satnam Sandhu and many more coming from a humble background offer a source of inspiration for our society, by excelling in their respective fields and achieved great heights.
