Kurukshetra; Kurukshetra University has appointed Professor Parmesh Kumar of the Institute of Integrated & Honors Studies (IIHS) as the new Director of the Institute of Environmental Studies. The appointment, issued under the orders of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva, will remain effective for a period of two years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Deputy Director, Public Relations, Dr Jimmy Sharma informed that Dr. Parmesh Kumar has built a distinguished academic and professional profile, contributing substantially to teaching, research, and institutional leadership since joining the Institute of Integrated & Honors Studies (IIHS) in 2003.
He was honoured with the Eminent Scientist Award by University College, Thiruvananthapuram in December 2023, reflecting his standing in the scientific community. He is currently serving as a Member of the Executive Council (2023–2025) and has held several important leadership positions, including President of HFUCTO (2015–2016) and thrice President of KUTA. A dedicated researcher and mentor, Dr. Kumar has supervised five Ph.D. scholars, published 49 research papers, and successfully completed two major research projects, underscoring his strong commitment to academic excellence and scholarly advancement.
