December 04, 2025 07:18 PM
Russian President Vladimir Putin arrives in New Delhi for a two-day state visit and is welcomed at Palam Airport by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The visit will begin with a private dinner hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

India is also likely to reiterate its position on the Russia–Ukraine conflict.

Tomorrow, Putin’s schedule will include a visit to Rajghat, a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan, summit-level talks at Hyderabad House, lunch with Modi and an address to industry leaders at the India–Russia Business Forum. President Droupadi Murmu will host a banquet in his honour before Putin departs in the evening.

The visit is expected to produce a joint statement and several agreements, including the Programme for the Development of Strategic Areas of Russian-Indian Economic Cooperation until 2030.

With bilateral trade rising to $63.6 billion in 2024, both nations are focused on deepening partnership in technology, mining, healthcare, space exploration, transport and labour mobility.

Putin will also take part in the official launch of the RT TV channel in India, signalling a push towards stronger cultural and media cooperation.

Overall, the meeting is anticipated to reinforce trust between Modi and Putin and give a major boost to India–Russia relations amid shifting global geopolitics.
