Menstrual Hygiene Awareness — A Strong Foundation for Women’s Health, Dignity, and Self-Confidence: Amarjeet Kaur Pooja

Kharar: Ms. Amarjeet Kaur Pooja, Chairperson of the Anmol Muskan Kanti Patni Deep Singh Charitable Trust, emphatically stated that spreading awareness about the use of sanitary napkins during menstruation is of paramount importance for safeguarding the health and hygiene of girls and women. She highlighted that the use of sanitary napkins protects women and adolescent girls from unhygienic menstrual practices and relieves them from the fear of leakage, thereby enabling them to carry out their daily activities with confidence, dignity, and without hesitation.

 

 

She expressed these views today while addressing students at the School of Eminence, Kharar, after distributing sanitary napkins to girl students on the school premises.Expressing concern, Amarjeet Kaur Pooja pointed out that even today, nearly 65 percent of India’s menstruating population does not use sanitary pads, reflecting a serious gap in menstrual health awareness and accessibility.

 

The Chairperson further disclosed that Ms. Mehak Preet Kaur, Senior Project Manager at P & G Whisper recently donated more than 1,200 sanitary pads to the Anmol Muskan Charitable Trust for distribution among underprivileged and marginalized communities across Punjab. According to the Chairperson, Ms. Mehak Preet Kaur firmly believes that menstrual health should never become a barrier to a woman’s dignity, her freedom of movement, or her right to education.

 

With unwavering commitment and compassion, she continues to work tirelessly toward bridging this critical gap and empowering girls and women through improved menstrual hygiene practices. Jaspreet Kaur Vice Principal of the SCHOOL OF Eminence Kharar also appreciated the efforts of Anmol Muskan Kanti W/o Deep Singh Charitable Trust.
