CHANDIGARH: Vasudev Gupta, a 25-year-old graduate of IIT Madras, has developed an open-source AI agent that can act as his virtual clone and help manage his online presence. Users can interact with the agent through a simple chat interface, much like speaking with another person, and assign tasks such as replying to messages, posting updates, or finding information online.
Vasudev says the agent is already helping him become more productive by handling routine and repetitive work that would otherwise take up valuable time. To make the system safer, Vasudev built an approval mechanism that requires confirmation before any action that could reveal sensitive information publicly. He has adopted a programmatic approach to ensure safety.
Vasudev has previously released open projects used by more than 200,000 people. He is currently working with a company developing advanced AI systems and contributing to large-scale post-training methods used to improve modern AI models. The project has been released as open-source, so anyone can install and run the agent themselves, enabling developers and researchers to experiment with AI systems that can actively work in real digital environments.
