New Delhi: The President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee )Harmeet Singh Kalka, in a statement issued today, said that the claims made in a video shared yesterday by Manjit Singh GK the former president of the gurdwara body regarding Gurdwara properties are incomplete and misleading.

He stated that while it is certainly welcome that issues related to Gurdwara properties are being raised, it is equally important to present the complete truth before the Sangat. Kalka emphasized that when Manjit Singh GK served as President of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, clear information should also be provided regarding the management and decisions taken about Gurdwara properties during his tenure.

He strongly remarked that “both giving and receiving half-baked information can be dangerous.” He further questioned what decisions were taken regarding valuable properties such as those in Karol Bagh and under what process those decisions were made.

Kalka highlighted that transparency and accountability are essential in public life. He also pointed out that, for the first time in the history of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, a situation has arisen where a President is facing court proceedings.

He appealed to Manjit Singh GK to openly present before the Sangat the decisions taken during his tenure and their outcomes. He added that instead of misleading the Sangat, the truth should be placed before them.

Kalka further stated that the present Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee is functioning with complete transparency and that not even an inch of Gurdwara land will be allowed to be lost. He assured that the management is committed to safeguarding and protecting Gurdwara properties while maintaining the trust of the Sangat.

He also urged the Sangat to remain cautious of rumors and to rely only on facts and truth. He said that the claims being spread by certain elements have no basis, and called upon the Sangat to remain united in preserving the dignity and properties of Gurdwaras.
