Amritsar. BJP leader from North constituency, Akshay Sharma, organized an impactful meeting in Ganda Singh Wala and nearby areas under the “Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot” campaign. A large number of local residents, youth, and booth workers were present on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Akshay Sharma said that the real strength of the city lies in its hardworking people. “You are the backbone of this city. The system runs because of your hard work. If you stop, the city stops,” he said.
He stated that the real issues of the people have long been ignored. “Development is not just about building roads, sewer systems, and installing lights. True development is when a common person gets proper healthcare, children receive quality education, and youth get employment opportunities,” he emphasized.
Raising concerns over the government healthcare system, he said that even today poor patients are forced to buy medicines from outside, and many have to return without treatment due to lack of money for medical tests. Addressing the youth, Sharma said that the five years after Class 10 are crucial in shaping one’s future. “Those who invest this time in education move ahead, while others get stuck in low-paying jobs. Today, even a salary of ₹20,000–₹50,000 is not sufficient to run a household,” he added.
He also expressed concern over unemployment and drug abuse, stating that it is essential to create new industries, factories, and employment opportunities to guide the youth in the right direction. Akshay Sharma urged people to question leaders when they come asking for votes. “It is your right to ask questions about employment, education, healthcare, and security,” he said.
Highlighting the importance of voting, he added, “Your vote is your dignity. It is not a one-day decision but a choice that impacts five years. Never sell it for short-term gains.” In conclusion, he said that a developed family, developed neighborhood, and developed locality together form the foundation of a strong and developed Amritsar. Under the “Mera Booth Sabse Mazboot” campaign, meetings were also held in Anand Avenue, Preet Nagar, and other areas of the North constituency.
On this occasion, Pawan Kumar Happy (Sarpanch), Samdish Mahajan, Abhey Suri, Suraj Wadhwa, Dilbagh Singh, Rajpal Singh, Bittu Pradhan, Kulwant Singh, Baby, Ram Krishan, and several other dignitaries were present.
