August 30, 2026 05:09 PM

Rampura Phul: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is scheduled to visit the politically significant village of Mehraj on September 7 to engage in a public interaction with the residents of the Rampura Phul Assembly constituency.

This anticipated visit has stirred enthusiasm among locals and has drawn political attention as the constituency becomes a focal point of activity.

Significance of Mehraj as the Chosen Venue

Mehraj, being the ancestral village of Sidhu Bhaichara, holds political importance for the Chief Minister. The decision to hold the interaction here adds a layer of significance to Mann’s visit, highlighting the village’s historical and political relevance. It is also ancestral village of Former CM Capt Amarinder Singh. Presently, the constituency is represented by Balkar Singh Sidhu, who is organising the function.

Connecting Mehraj to Rampura Phul

While the interaction is set to take place in Mehraj, it is intended for the entire Rampura Phul constituency. Residents from various villages and towns within the constituency will have the opportunity to meet the Chief Minister directly, voicing their concerns, demands, and suggestions. This platform is expected to allow locals to discuss issues related to development, public services, and other matters directly with their leader.

A Political Strategy Ahead of 2027 ?

From a political standpoint, Mann’s visit holds considerable significance. As political activity in Punjab gradually intensifies ahead of the next Assembly elections, the Chief Minister’s direct engagement with constituents could be seen as an effort to fortify his grassroots connection.

The interaction will not only enable the government to hear local grievances but could also provide insights into voter sentiments and priorities at the grassroots level. Political analysts are likely to closely observe the interaction’s tone and the issues raised by attendees.

Public Interaction or Political ‘Pulse Check ?

The Mehraj interaction could serve as a crucial indicator of public sentiment in Rampura Phul. The community’s response, the topics they bring up, and any assurances or decisions that emerge from the meeting could become focal points of political discussion in the coming days.

Consequently, on September 7, Mehraj is expected to transcend its role as a mere venue for public interaction. It could become an essential platform for Chief Minister Mann to gauge the political climate of Rampura Phul and strengthen his direct connection with the electorate.
