Kurukshetra:  Kurukshetra University organized Run for Unity on the campus on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. On this occasion, Kurukshetra University Vice Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva administered the oath to all the teachers including the NSS volunteers and took a pledge to make a significant contribution to the unity, integrity and nation building of India.

Prof. Som Nath said that India as a union of States is a gift of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and after India got independence. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played an important role in uniting the whole nation in the thread of unity.

He further said that on this day every Indian needs to take an oath for the unity and integrity of the country, taking inspiration from the life of Sardar Patel. He also flagged off the unity run organized on National Unity Day. KU Vice Chancellor Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva, Registrar Dr. Sanjeev Sharma and a large number of faculties including NSS Volunteers participated enthusiastically in it.

Prof Som Nath said that celebrating the birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the architect of national integration, as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is a great occasion for all of us countrymen to strengthen India's security, unity and integrity.

On this day we can all strengthen our commitment to maintain national unity and integrity. Even after the independence of India, the British continued to conspire at the last moment and they not only divided the country but also misled the Indian princely states. Due to different princely states and arrogance, some princely states were not ready to come to independent India due to their personal interests, but Iron Man Vallabhbhai Patel, showing unprecedented understanding and will power, merged more than 500 states of the country into India.

On this occasion Prof. Neelam Dhanda, NSS Coordinator Dr. Anand Singh, Dr. Sunil Dhull, Dr. Rajkamal, Dr. Neeraj Batish, Dr. Dipti Choudhary, Dr. Gurcharan Singh, Dr. Virender Pal, Dr. Manisha Sandhu, Dr. Jimmi Sharma, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Dr. Vikas and NSS volunteers were present.
