Rewari. SP Rajpurohit said that cyber fraudsters are committing fraud every day. New tactics are being adopted to extort money. Don't download any remote desktop apps to your device. Do not share your ID, password, pin, account number, etc. with anyone. He has warned about a remote desktop app called AnyDesk. Any Desk App is a very simple tool to cheat, as it allows users to connect to different mobiles and systems on the Internet. In general terms, it is like a screen sharing platform. Criminals are using it to commit fraud and online fraud.

Most people use mobile apps to make online purchases or transfer money from an account, he said. If the link of Any Desk Mobile App comes forward through any social media on the mobile, avoid clicking on it. This app can be dangerous for the bank account. Cybercriminals are increasingly using Any Desk App for online fraud. Some people use the customer care number on Google by searching and in some cases, the victim himself calls the customer care to solve some problems.

In such a situation, the purpose of the fraudster is to force the victim to download the Any Desk or Team Weaver app on his mobile phone. After downloading any app, the fraudster needs a 9-digit remote desk code. So he will interrogate the victim for that. Once the victim reveals the 9-digit code and allows the app, the fraudster will get to see the screen of the victim's device on his device and can also record it. When he types the ID or password of his banking or UPI app, the fraudster notes it down. This app works in the background even when the phone is locked.

The AnyDesk app on Android phones easily allows the fraudster to view and record the victim's phone screen without their knowledge. For any kind of complaint related to cybercrime, one should report to the helpline number 1930 and cybercrime portal https://cybercrime.gov.in and lodge a complaint at the nearest police station.
