NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday reaffirmed that his government stands “shoulder-to-shoulder” with those affected by the recent floods and landslides, as he departed for Himachal Pradesh and Punjab to assess the ground situation in the disaster-hit states.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Leaving for Himachal Pradesh and Punjab to review the situation in the wake of floods and landslides. The Government of India stands shoulder to shoulder with those affected in this tragic hour.”

PM Modi will review ongoing relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts after the severe monsoon-triggered floods and landslides that have caused large-scale devastation across the two northern states.

He will chair a high-level review meeting with officials in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh and interact with affected families as well as members of the National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force, and Aapda Mitra teams engaged in relief operations.

Following his Himachal visit, PM Modi will conduct an aerial survey of flood-affected areas in Punjab. He will hold a review meeting with senior officials in Gurdaspur and interact with survivors along with NDRF, SDRF, and Aapda Mitra personnel engaged in relief work.
