Punjab Cabinet takes key decision on regularization of Non-Teaching Staff

September 09, 2025 05:21 PM

Chandigarh: In a major decision, the Punjab Cabinet has approved the regularization of services of Non-Teaching Staff working under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA). Alongside this, the Cabinet has also given the green signal for the creation of 1,007 new posts in the School Education Department.

This move fulfills the long-pending demand of SSA’s non-teaching employees, many of whom had been working on a temporary basis for years with uncertainty about their future. Regularization will provide them with job security and a permanent place in the government framework.

According to the government, the inclusion of these experienced employees into the regular cadre will streamline administrative tasks, reduce legal bottlenecks, and enhance efficiency in the education system. The decision is being seen as a significant step by the Punjab government towards strengthening the state’s educational infrastructure while ensuring better service conditions for its workforce.
