Bilaspur; Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will undertake a one-day visit to Bilaspur district on December 17, during which he will dedicate and lay foundation stones for multiple development projects worth approximately Rs 69 crore in the Ghumarwin Assembly constituency. The visit is expected to significantly strengthen infrastructure and civic facilities in the region, while also addressing long-pending concerns of pensioners across the state.
According to an official spokesperson, the Chief Minister will arrive at the Tikri helipad, Ghumarwin, at 10:00 a.m. He will lay the foundation stone of a multi-purpose sports complex to be constructed at a cost of Rs 6.08 crore. At 10:35 a.m., he will inaugurate the newly constructed Ghumarwin Police Station, built at a cost of Rs 4.82 crore, and lay the foundation stone for police family quarters costing Rs 6 crore.
At 10:55 a.m., the Chief Minister will reach the Ghumarwin bus stand to lay the foundation stone for the upgradation of the 7-kilometre Amarpur–Hadsar–Dahad–Jaman–Ghumarwin road at a cost of ₹6.13 crore. At 11:15 a.m., he will lay the foundation stone for the upgradation of the 31-kilometre Ghumarwin–Barthi–Shahtalai road at a cost of Rs 34.95 crore and inaugurate a rainwater harvesting check dam at Seer Khad built at Rs 3.67 crore. At 11:35 a.m., he will also lay the foundation stone for a 68-metre jeepable bridge over Seer Khad on the Bari Majhedwan–Dahad–Panol road, costing Rs 6.80 crore.
At noon, the Chief Minister will attend the All India Pensioners’ Day celebrations at Hotel M4U, Ghumarwin, as the chief guest. During the state-level conference of the Himachal Pradesh Pensioners’ Joint Front, pensioners will present a 19-point demand charter, including payment of pending arrears, dearness allowance installments, Sixth Pay Commission dues, and clearance of medical bills. Thousands of pensioners from across the state are expected to participate in the conference before the Chief Minister’s departure at 2:15 p.m.
