New Delhi : A special gurmat congregation was held with deep reverence at Bhai Lakhi Shah Vanjara Hall, Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib, to commemorate the 100th Martyrdom Anniversary of Shaheed Sardar Teja Singh Samundri Ji—one of the most distinguished Sikh leaders, a pioneer of the gurdwara reform movement, and a founding member of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.
Addressing the congregation, Harmeet Singh Kalka said that the life of Shaheed Sardar Teja Singh Samundri Ji remains an enduring source of inspiration for the sikh community, exemplifying selfless service, supreme sacrifice, unwavering dedication, and visionary Panthic leadership. He remarked that Samundri Ji's historic role in the gurdwara reform movement and his invaluable contribution towards strengthening Sikh institutions will forever be remembered with profound respect and gratitude.
On the occasion, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee general secretary Jagdeep Singh Kahlon stated that the entire DSGMC leadership and team participated in the commemorative event, paying heartfelt floral tributes to the great martyr and honoring his unparalleled sacrifice for the panth.
The event was graced by the presence of Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Chief Minister of Delhi Smt. Rekha Gupta, Delhi Cabinet Minister Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa, SGPC President Sardar Harjinder Singh Dhami, along with several distinguished political, religious, and social leaders, revered saints, members of the delhi sikh gurdwara management committee, and a large gathering of devotees. The dignitaries paid glowing tributes to Shaheed Sardar Teja Singh Samundri Ji, recalling his extraordinary services to the Panth, his farsighted leadership, and his supreme sacrifice.
In their addresses, the speakers unanimously observed that Shaheed Sardar Teja Singh Samundri Ji's sacrifices in safeguarding the Sikh community's religious freedom, securing the autonomy of sikh gurdwaras, and upholding panthic traditions are etched in golden letters in the annals of history. They emphasized that his ideals of courage, commitment, and selfless service continue to inspire younger generations to dedicate themselves to the service of the Panth and humanity.
