Malerkotla: A one-day training programme was organised in Malerkotla district for charge officers on data collection for the District Census Handbook (DCHB) as part of preparations for Census 2027, in accordance with the directions of the Directorate of Census Operations, Punjab, under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
During the training, master trainer Vinod Kumar briefed the officers on the procedures for collecting accurate and timely data from villages and urban areas for the preparation of the District Census Handbook. A hands-on demonstration was also conducted on the use of the DCHB mobile application for data entry.
Officials were instructed to ensure accuracy, transparency and adherence to timelines while collecting data so that the District Census Handbook could be completed within the prescribed schedule for Census 2027.
The session also covered various technical and procedural aspects of DCHB preparation, with officials' queries being addressed during the programme.
Master trainers Ankush Sharma and Vivek Singh, Naib Tehsildar Malerkotla Sukhwinder Singh, Naib Tehsildar Amargarh Parveen Kumar, Naib Tehsildar Ahmedgarh Randeep Singh, the District Technical Assistant, and employees of the municipal council and municipal committees attended the training programme.
