Chandigarh- Haryana Social Justice, Empowerment, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare and Antyodaya (SEWA) Minister, Sh. Krishan Bedi, said that the Haryana Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, has decided to celebrate the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj across the State grandly and historically through a Social Harmony Kalash Yatra.
Under this statewide initiative, sacred soil from Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj's birthplace at Seer Govardhanpur in Varanasi (Kashi) will be brought to Haryana and ceremonially installed in temples across villages and cities across the State to spread the message of social harmony and brotherhood.
Addressing a press conference at Yamunanagar on Wednesday, the Minister said Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj showed society the path of equality, social harmony and freedom from discrimination. To mark his 650th Prakash Parv, a special Haryana delegation comprising Ministers, Members of the Legislative Assembly and leaders of the BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha will bring the sacred Kalash containing holy soil from his birthplace at Seer Govardhanpur, Varanasi.
He said the sacred Kalash will be installed with due religious sanctity at Shri Sheetla Mata Temple, Gurugram. Thereafter, the sacred soil will be distributed across all 27 organisational district units of Haryana and carried to towns and villages through the Social Harmony Kalash Yatra, where it will be ceremonially installed in temples so that the message of social harmony reaches every household and the entire State is blessed by the teachings of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj.
The Minister said that the primary objective of the grand Social Harmony Kalash Yatra is to connect the youth and future generations with the teachings, philosophy and principles of social harmony propounded by Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj.
The Minister said the Haryana Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, is continuously working to propagate the teachings and ideals of saints and great personalities in society. He said Guru Ravidas Ji's life and philosophy are not meant for any one section alone but provide a path for the welfare of the entire humanity. He expressed confidence that the Social Harmony Kalash Yatra would set a new example of social harmony, brotherhood and unity in Haryana.
Yamunanagar MLA, Sh. Ghanshyam Dass Arora, and other dignitaries also remained present on this occasion.
