Patiala : Former MP Preneet Kaur on Tuesday termed the Nari Shakti Vandana Adhiniyam a historic and transformative step toward women empowerment. Addressing a press conference along with the BJP Mahila Morcha in Patiala, she thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for introducing the legislation. She said the Act, which provides 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha, will ensure stronger political representation and greater participation of women in decision-making and law-making processes.

Highlighting the Centre’s women-centric initiatives, Preneet Kaur said schemes such as PM Mudra Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, Stand-Up India, and Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana have significantly contributed to making women self-reliant. She added that initiatives like “Lakhpati Didi” and PM Awas Yojana have brought substantial socio-economic changes in the lives of women across the country.

Targeting the Punjab Government, she alleged that it has failed to fulfill its promise of providing ₹1,000 per month to women. She claimed that the scheme has been diluted through conditions and restrictions, amounting to a betrayal of women’s trust.

Preneet Kaur asserted that the Nari Shakti Vandana Adhiniyam will usher in a new era of women-led governance and strengthen their role in shaping the nation’s future.

Several BJP leaders and members of the Mahila Morcha, including Manisha Uppal, Vandana Joshi, Anmol Batish, Kamlesh Devi, and others, were present during the press conference.
