Faridkot: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini participated in various events during his visit to Faridkot district on Sunday. At each event, highlighting the achievements of his government, he targeted the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab government and Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. In Faridkot city, he inducted renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Sanjeev Goyal and his associates into the Bharatiya Janata Party.
After this, in a press conference, he sharply criticized the AAP government and Chief Minister Mann. CM Saini said that those who understand the pain of Punjab now see a new ray of hope in the BJP. He said that states across the country with the BJP's 'double-engine' government, including Haryana, have seen rapid development. He expressed confidence that after the 2027 elections, the BJP government will be formed in Punjab and the state will scale new heights of development. Attacking the AAP government, Saini remarked that they came to power promising a drug-free Punjab, but instead of eliminating the menace of drugs, their own leaders started reaching the Vidhan Sabha in a drug-addicted state.
Nothing can be expected from such individuals. He also mentioned the achievements of his 19-month-old government in Haryana, saying that just like in Haryana - farmers, labourers, women, youth, sportspersons and in Punjab - work will be done for the welfare of every section of the society. He also took a dig at the AAP government over the controversy surrounding the Pharmacy Officer Recruitment Examination in Punjab.
Later, CM Saini attended a conference organised by the 'Akhil Bhartiya Samast DNT Samaj Sangathan' (All India DNT Community Organisation) at Sadik Grain Market. He assured that after the formation of the BJP government in Punjab, the long-pending demands of the denotified tribes and communities will be fulfilled on priority. Speaking on the occasion, the organisation's national president, Rajinder Singh Desu Jodha, said that the AAP government has done injustice to their community by stopping the benefit of 2 per cent reservation that was earlier available to them.
During his visit, Chief Minister Saini first participated in the 'Drug-Free Youth' program organized in Kotkapura under the 'Developed India Sankalp' initiative of the Government of India. In this event, the youth listened to a virtual speech by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The program was presided over by BJP leader Rahul Singh Sidhu. Several senior party leaders and workers, including BJP District President Gaurav Kakkar, were present on the occasion.
