Kaithal: Eighteen youths from Kaithal have secured private sector jobs after successfully completing a 45-day free Job Readiness Programme launched through the initiative of Congress MLA Aditya Surjewala in collaboration with Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) and the Head Held High Foundation.
The programme, aimed at providing employment opportunities to rural, urban and underprivileged youth, trained 20 participants in its second phase, with 18 receiving job offers carrying competitive salaries in the hospitality and allied sectors.
This follows the programme's first phase, in which another 18 youths had also secured employment, taking the total number of beneficiaries placed in jobs to 36.
Surjewala said he facilitated the launch of the training programme in Kaithal after coordinating with IHCL and the Head Held High Foundation. He distributed job offer letters to the successful candidates at Jat College.
The training programme focused on preparing participants for careers in hospitality, services and related industries. The curriculum included communication skills, digital literacy, personality development, workplace readiness, logical reasoning and interview preparation.
Congratulating the selected candidates, Surjewala said connecting rural and urban youth with leading corporate brands and making them self-reliant remains one of his priorities. He said the initiative was laying a strong foundation for the future of young job seekers and would help improve their employability.
He also appreciated the support of IHCL and the Head Held High Foundation, stating that their collaboration was contributing to the empowerment of rural youth across the country, with the Kaithal initiative proving particularly beneficial for local candidates.
The newly recruited youths and their family members expressed gratitude to the MLA for facilitating employment opportunities.
Among those present at the programme were Jat Shikshan Sansthan president Rajkumar Beniwal, vice-president Baljinder Bhanwala, secretary Rashmi Dhull, treasurer Balkar Nain, executive members Jasbir Manas, Rajpal Jaglan, Swatantrapal and Sunny Chaushala, Jat College principal Dr Ravindra Dhillon, Jat ITI principal Kuldeep Gopra, and Kulbir Chahal, among others.
