MANMOHAN SINGH
New Delhi: The President of the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee, Sardar Harmeet Singh Kalka, and general secretary Jagdeep Singh Kahlon has strongly condemned the alleged incident of political sloganeering and deliberate disruption within the sacred precincts of Gurudwara Sri Bangla Sahib. He stated that using the sanctity and dignity of a Gurudwara for any political propaganda or activity is a deeply offensive and reprehensible act that hurts the sentiments of the dikh congregation.

Sardar Kalka and Kahlon said that, according to the details recorded in the complaint, the incident appears to be the outcome of a premeditated and well-planned action, allegedly aimed at exploiting the sanctity of Gurudwara Sri Bangla Sahib for political motives. Both leaders emphasised that a Gurudwara is a centre of faith, peace, and spirituality for people of every religion and every section of society; therefore, any act that compromises the sanctity of Gurudwara Bangla Sahib cannot be tolerated.

Kalka and Kahlon revealed that a formal complaint has been registered with the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), New Delhi, against Arvind Kejriwal and his associates in connection with the incident. He stated that the complaint demands a thorough investigation into the matter, an examination of any conspiracy and coordination behind the incident, and strict legal action against those responsible for misusing the sanctity of Gurudwara Sahib for political activities.

Both leaders asserted that using religious places to promote political agendas not only violates religious codes of conduct but also stands against social harmony and democratic responsibility. Sardar Kalka said that no political party or leader has the right to play with the sanctity of a Gurudwara and the sentiments of the congregation for personal or political gain.

Sardar Kalka and Kahlon urged the Delhi Police and the concerned investigative agencies to conduct an impartial and time-bound inquiry into the matter, thoroughly examine the role of all individuals connected with the incident, and take stringent action against those found responsible. Both stressed that protecting the sanctity and dignity of Gurudwara Sri Bangla Sahib is a shared responsibility of every responsible citizen and the administration.
