"Telecom Vocational Students of Government Senior Secondary School Jhagdiyani Complete Two-Day OJT Training at IIIT Una"

IIIT Una: A group of 24 students from the Telecom (Telecommunication) vocational stream of Government Senior Secondary School, Jhagdiyani, District Hamirpur (Himachal Pradesh), successfully completed a two-day hands-on On-the-Job Training (OJT) programme at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Una, Himachal Pradesh.


The training programme was organized by the School of Electronics, IIIT Una, and was conducted under the coordination and supervision of Head of the Department, Dr. Ankur Kumar. The objective of the programme was to provide students with practical exposure to modern telecommunication technologies, tools, and real-world working practices, thereby strengthening the linkage between classroom learning and industry-relevant skills.


Upon successful completion of the training, OJT completion certificates were awarded to all participating students by the institute. During the training sessions, students gained hands-on experience and practical insights into contemporary developments in the telecom domain, enhancing their technical understanding and employability skills.


During the hands-on training, Mr. Ravindra Kumar (Vocational Instructor), Ms. Anita Kumari, Ms. Nirmala Devi, and Mr. Arun Kumar accompanied the students to IIIT Una and actively supported the training activities. The Principal of the school, Ms. Anita Kumari, stated that such practical training programmes play a vital role in the overall skill development of students and significantly improve their future employment prospects. She expressed her sincere gratitude to the administration of IIIT Una and all faculty members involved in organizing and conducting the training.


Prof. Manish Gaur, Director of IIIT Una, congratulated the students on the successful completion of the OJT programme and appreciated the collaborative efforts between the institute and the school. He emphasized that early exposure to hands-on technical training is essential for nurturing skilled and industry-ready professionals. He also stated that IIIT Una will continue to support vocational education and work closely with schools to help students grow and learn better.
