CHAMBA: Eight-year-old Vedansh Pranhuliya from Siddhpur village in Chamba district has brought pride to Himachal Pradesh by winning a gold medal in the sub-junior category at the North India Karate Championship held at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, on November 7, 2025. The championship was organized by Karate Bharat Organization, affiliated with the Karate Federation of India (WKFI), Asian Karate Federation (AKFI), Commonwealth Karate Federation (CKF), and South Asian Karate Federation (SAKF).

Representing Himachal Pradesh, Vedansh outperformed over 300 participants in his category to clinch the top position. His remarkable achievement has been widely celebrated in Chamba, where locals welcomed him warmly on his return.

Vedansh credited his success to his parents, Shefali and Navleen Pranhuliya, and his coaches, Kanchan Thakur and Pawan Thakur. This is not the first time the young karateka has made his district proud — he has previously won gold medals at the state level as well.
