DHARAMSHALA: Former Mayor Devinder Jaggi stated that efforts are underway to include the traditional Kuhls in the Dharamshala Assembly constituency under the JICA project to ensure their long-term maintenance and water flow. He stated that many Kuhls in the area were damaged during the rainy season, and water flow was disrupted in many places. To ensure a robust and smooth irrigation system in the region, repairs and cleaning of traditional Kuhls are being undertaken at a rapid pace. Jaggi stated that the Kuhls in Passue Barwala and Kand Kardiana have been repaired and re-opened, providing significant relief to the farmers and gardeners in the area. He added that repairs to other Kuhls in the Dharamshala area are also being completed soon to ensure adequate water for irrigation. He stated that at the request of the women's groups of Ward Nos. 8 and 9 of the Dharamshala Municipal Corporation, he conducted a field inspection of the canal in the Sakoh area. During the inspection, responding to local residents' demands, he directed the concerned officials to ensure prompt water flow in the Sakoh canal so that farmers do not face any difficulties in irrigating their fields. Devinder Jaggi stated that he also inspected the Barwala canal repair work and spoke with the villagers. He stated that the active participation of the local villagers was commendable for the success of these projects. He thanked the villagers for their collective initiative and cooperation and emphasized that only through public participation can development projects be permanently successful. He stated that under the able leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the Dharamshala Assembly constituency is rapidly progressing towards development. Our aim is to ensure that every village and family in Dharamshala joins the mainstream of development and feels part of this transformation. He stated that our goal is not to limit development to cities, but to reach every village, every farm, and every home.
