Ghumarwin; An employment fair was organised on Thursday at Milan Palace in Ghumarwin under Mission Rozgar Himachal to provide better job opportunities to the youth of the constituency. The event was held under the guidance of former MLA and former state minister Rajendra Garg and jointly organised by the Himalaya Jankalyan Samiti and the Laghu Udyog Sangh. Himalaya Jankalyan Samiti president Ranesh Rana was present as the chief guest.
Hundreds of young men and women from Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Mandi and other districts participated in the fair. A total of 15 reputed companies, including Vardhman, SIS Group, Ambrose Autocomp, Mahindra & Mahindra, Swaraj, Toyota, Ivan Security Agency and several prominent pharma companies from Baddi, Nalagarh and Parwanoo, took part in the event.
The fair received an enthusiastic response as more than 170 youths registered on the spot. Many candidates were issued appointment letters immediately, while others will be called soon for selection based on their qualifications.
Candidates appreciated the effort of participating companies in offering on-the-spot appointments and expressed gratitude towards the Himalaya Foundation and former minister Rajendra Garg for facilitating such opportunities.
Addressing the gathering, Garg said that providing employment opportunities to the youth has always been a priority. He added that the youth of Ghumarwin constituency are highly talented, and job fairs like these not only provide opportunities but also give direction and confidence. He announced that larger employment fairs will be organised in the future to benefit even more young people.
On this occasion, Ranesh Rana urged the youth to prepare for government jobs after completing their education but also to explore career opportunities in the BBN industrial area. He said that the Himalaya Jankalyan Samiti and the Laghu Udyog Sangh aim to act as a bridge between industries and unemployed youth, and this is why employment fairs are being organised across almost every district of the state.
