Shimla:  The district administration of Shimla is working with a clear objective of ensuring equal and inclusive development across all sections of society, said Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap while chairing multiple district-level review meetings related to social justice, minority welfare, sanitation workers, and persons with disabilities.

Reviewing cases under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, the DC stressed the need for better investigation and capacity building, announcing special workshops for police officials to improve case processing and conviction rates. He reiterated that social security and equality remain top administrative priorities.

The DC also reviewed welfare measures for minority communities, highlighting access to anganwadi services, nutrition, education, scholarships, skill training, housing, and employment schemes. Special focus was laid on improving educational outcomes and infrastructure through central and state schemes.

Under sanitation and rehabilitation reviews, the administration confirmed that no manual scavenging exists in Shimla district. Sanitation workers are being provided safety equipment, healthcare camps, housing, scholarships for children, and compassionate employment benefits.

In meetings held under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, it was informed that 101 persons with disabilities were provided employment under MGNREGA during 2025–26, along with pensions, scholarships, accessibility initiatives, UDID cards, and legal guardianship support.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized coordinated implementation of welfare schemes to ensure dignity, empowerment, and equal opportunities for all citizens.
