BILASPUR : HRTC Purchase Committee Member and Former Congress State Media Coordinator Sandeep Sankhyan launched a scathing attack on the Himachal Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that the party’s politics has “fallen beyond corruption” and entered a dangerous phase of moral decline. He said that the growing number of incidents involving BJP leaders, including MLAs and MPs, in cases of women’s harassment reflects a deep moral and structural crisis within the organization.
Sankhyan questioned whether such individuals represent the leadership standards of the BJP or whether the party’s internal system has collapsed so completely that indecent behavior now defines its public image. He remarked that the silence of senior BJP leaders, who once commented on every issue, is deafening — and even the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which preaches moral and personality development, has chosen silence.
He asked pointedly whether women are now more unsafe than ever in Himachal Pradesh while BJP leaders remain unmoved. Sankhyan expressed shock that even Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who calls Himachal his “second home,” and BJP National President J.P. Nadda, a Himachali himself, have not spoken on these scandals. He also criticized the BJP’s failure to demand a CBI probe into the growing number of allegations that have shaken public confidence.
Calling the situation a crisis of credibility, Sankhyan said the BJP’s internal conspiracies and power struggles for the 2027 Assembly elections have torn apart the party’s integrity. Referring to controversies in Chamba, Solan, and the case involving a former MP’s son, he claimed that BJP leaders who once projected themselves as paragons of virtue now appear trapped in their own political deceit.
He concluded that the BJP’s moral breakdown has not only disillusioned its cadre but also insulted the democratic values of Himachal Pradesh, leaving both the public and the opposition questioning the true face of the ruling party.
