DHARAMSHALA : On the sixth day of the Dharamshala Assembly session, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) once again took to the streets. The ABVP held a vigorous demonstration in Dharamshala today, alleging mismanagement of the education system, unemployment, and neglect of student interests.

A tense situation prevailed for three hours between police and students as they attempted to lay siege to the Zorabar Stadium and the Assembly. Two days ago, ABVP workers were recently detained by police during a Chief Minister's program in Dharamshala. In protest, hundreds of the council's workers reached Zorabar Stadium and insisted on laying siege to theAssembly. Police deployed tight security and barricaded the road leading to the stadium. In protest, the workers sat on the road and began a protest.

The ABVP says the state's education system is steadily deteriorating. The failure to appoint permanent vice-chancellors in universities, delays in the evaluation process, lack of research facilities, ambiguity in employment policies, and campus politics have put the future of the youth in jeopardy. The organization alleges that the government is not serious about students' problems and is buying time by offering "hollow assurances" on education and youth issues. Police used mild force to disperse the crowd of students.

The government continues to ignore student interests. Our universities are becoming centers of chaos. Without a permanent Vice Chancellor, no research facilities, and no clear policy on employment—the future of the youth hangs in the balance. If the government does not take immediate action, the struggle will intensify. The ABVP has warned that if the government does not take immediate decisions on education and employment-related issues, a large-scale agitation will be launched across the state, including Kangra. Today, a large number of workers from the district arrived in Dharamshala and attempted to march from Zorabar Stadium towards the Assembly, but were stopped by the police.
