Congress Begins Consultations for New Bilaspur District Chief

Bilaspur: All India Congress Committee’s (AICC) Secretary and Bilaspur Observer Hina Likhiram Kaware announced that the new district Chief of Congress will we with consultation of all rank and files of the party including the sympathizers.

Kaware briefing Media at Indira Bhawan Party office said that congress has formally launched a nationwide Organization Creation Campaign, a major structural strengthening initiative whose blueprint was finalized at last year’s national convention in Ahmedabad. The year 2025 has been designated as the Organization Creation Year, marking an important phase of organizational rebuilding across all states.

Kaware confirmed that the process to appoint the new District Congress President has begun. She said that all contenders will undergo one-on-one interviews and discussions will be held with grassroots workers to ensure maximum transparency and consensus.

She emphasized that any Congress worker from the district can apply for the post, and applications will be accepted until December 7. Kaware added that she would strive to ensure that the district unanimously proposes one name, but if consensus is not achieved, a panel of six names will be prepared and forwarded to the high command. The final decision regarding the District President will rest with the national leadership.

Kaware underlined that the new District President must be capable of strong decision-making and must be ready to shoulder organizational accountability. After selection, the candidate will also receive formal training from the party. Adding that Bilaspur reflects strong coordination between the government and organization, as evident from her interactions with district-level leaders and workers. So far, four applications have been received for the post, and one candidate has already undergone an initial discussion. She also plans to consult intellectuals aligned with the party’s ideology before finalizing the report, which will be submitted to the party high command on December 8.

Prominent leaders including Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani, Co-Observer Amit Bharmauri, Sunil Sharma and Champa including District President Anjana Dhiman, former MLAs Bamber Thakur and Tilak Raj Sharma, HIMUDA Director Jitendra Chandel former State Secretary Vikas Thakur, and Cooperative Bank Directors Sunil Sharma and Sandeep Sankhyan were present.

This marks a significant step toward revitalizing the Congress organization in Bilaspur as it prepares for fresh leadership under the national campaign.
